About Army ROTC

The Army ROTC (Reserve Officers Training Corp) is designed to train the U.S. Army's next generation of officers. There is no obligation for non-contracted freshman or sophomores within this program. This program offers current students the chance to excel in not only their academics but in the field of military training. The ROTC was created in 1936 in Potsdam, and allows students to become the future leaders of America.

The Army ROTC program offers any student the chance of earning a scholarship to pay for their stay at Clarkson University, SUNY Potsdam, Saint Lawrence University, or SUNY Canton. Students could receive the benefits of $1200 for textbooks per year, $300-$500 tax-free spending allowance, and tuition fees paid for. After the 4 year program is completed, the students will earn the right to wear the bars of a United States Army Second Lieutenant.
