Family Literacy Night at SUNY Potsdam Celebrates 'Paws for Books'

March 9, 2018

The upcoming Family Literacy Night at SUNY Potsdam will celebrate “Paws for Books,” on Wednesday, March 21 at 6 p.m., in the Rebecca V. Sheard Literacy Center.

This semester’s Family Literacy Night will be pet-themed, with a variety of activities, including a photo booth and face painting. The event will be held in conjunction with a Scholastic Book Fair, and refreshments will also be available.

All area middle schoolers are invited to attend this free event, along with their families. Every student will go home with a book of their choice.

SUNY Potsdam education students have organized the Family Literacy Night, with the goal of creating meaningful activities for families to promote literacy and create lifelong readers. The Potsdam Public Library and the Early Childhood Direction Center in Albany have also partnered to assist with this event.
