Scholarships Bolstered Thanks to Support from Donors at SUNY Potsdam Reunion Weekend

August 4, 2017

Members of the SUNY Potsdam Class of 1967 raised $1.26 million in honor of their 50th Reunion.

SUNY Potsdam welcomed more than 650 alumni and friends back to campus for Reunion Weekend 2017. Thanks to their outpouring of support, supporters raised nearly $2 million to support scholarships and programs at the College through class gifts and fundraisers held during the festivities.

Reunion classes celebrated their milestone years by giving back to their alma mater. Total giving for Reunion Weekend 2017 totaled $1,994,289.

Local businesses were generous with their support of the weekend as well, contributing items to the silent auction held during the Saturday evening reception, prior to the class dinner and alumni award presentations. All proceeds from the silent auction went to support the Alumni Association Scholarship Fund.

Scholarship support remains a top priority for the College, as the institution aims to recruit and retain the best students, and ensure that each student has the opportunity to take advantage of all that a Potsdam education has to offer.

Alumni Association volunteers worked hard to put together baskets and packages for the silent auction, which wouldn’t have been possible without donations from local businesses.

The SUNY Potsdam Office of Alumni Relations would like to extend its gratitude to the following Potsdam businesses who contributed to the silent auction:

  • 1844 House
  • 1/2 Ton’s Bar & Grill
  • A-1 Oriental Kitchen
  • Asian Buffet & Mongolian Grill
