April 21, 2017

SUNY Potsdam dancers perform during last year’s Senior Choreographers’ Concert in the Performing Arts Center.

The SUNY Potsdam Department of Theatre and Dance and the College Dance Ensemble kicks off the 2017 Lougheed-Kofoed (LoKo) Festival of Arts with “Imprint,” the annual Senior Choreographers’ Concert. This series of dance performances will take place in the Dance Theater at SUNY Potsdam’s Performing Arts Center on Friday, April 28 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, April 29 at 2 p.m. and 9 p.m. and Sunday, April 30 at 2 p.m. as part of the LoKo Festival of Arts, which runs from April 28-May 7.

This concert consists of nine works, eight choreographed by students enrolled in the Senior Projects course and one by faculty choreographer Cynthia DuFault. The dance pieces being presented vary in genre and form, ranging from humorous to heart-breaking, urbane to environmental, classical to contemporary and tap dance to ballet. The senior choreographers presenting their work include: Ricole Beaubian, Makenzie Cuozzo, Alexis DiBartolomeo, Megan Harding, Justine Kennedy, Aniko Nagy, Alonicha Triana and Sarahfina Wipf.

The level of experience in this concert varies from first-time dancers to experienced performers. In addition to the efforts of the eight student choreographers and over three dozen student performers, this concert will also present the work of students showcasing their lighting, costume design and scenic design skills. Additionally, student stage managers and theater technicians oversee the performance.

Admission is free, but tickets are required and can be picked up at the door one hour before each performance. There are no reserved tickets available for this event.
