Path to Potsdam
A SUNY Potsdam/North Country Community College Collaborative
SUNY Potsdam and North Country Community College have teamed up to propose a unique collaborative program that would allow students to start their education at NCCC, and then easily transition to complete their studies at SUNY Potsdam—all on one campus.
The Path to Potsdam partnership would provide an avenue for students interested in, but not accepted to, a baccalaureate program at SUNY Potsdam to realize that dream through NCCC classes. Students in the Path to Potsdam program would complete one of three targeted associate degrees offered right here on the Potsdam campus. Once that two-year NCCC degree is complete, students would be eligible to transfer to complete their baccalaureate studies in one of SUNY Potsdam’s 40 majors.
What degrees would be offered in the Path to Potsdam?
NCCC would offer the following degrees, taught fully on the SUNY Potsdam campus:
- A.A. Liberal Arts & Science/Humanities & Social Science
- A.S. Business Administration
- A.A.S. Criminal Justice
Who would teach the Path to Potsdam courses?
Students would be taught by North Country Community College faculty members, on the SUNY Potsdam campus. The NCCC faculty would also serve as advisors for Path to Potsdam students.
Where would students in the program live?
Path to Potsdam students would have the opportunity to live on campus and will be assigned rooms just as if they were incoming SUNY Potsdam freshmen. They would have full access to campus libraries, athletic facilities, dining halls and entertainment options, including joining student clubs and organizations.
How do I apply?
No special application is needed. All interested students must apply to SUNY Potsdam using the SUNY or Common Application. The College will determine if you are admissible directly to the College. If you aren’t accepted, you may be contacted by an Admissions counselor to discuss the Path to Potsdam option.
