May 28: Access to Offices

May 28, 2020

Dear Colleagues,

On Monday, June 1, the campus will provide an update on the safe return of employees to campus. Until you are provided a written directive from your supervisor to return to campus, you should not return to work.

In the meantime, many faculty and staff have reached out to gain access to their offices on campus to retrieve belongings. To ensure the safety of our campus community, President’s Council has approved procedures for teaching faculty and non-essential staff to return to offices to do so. The following procedures and guidelines replace any building-level or previous information.

In order to limit the number of employees in a space at one time, the College will be scheduling one-hour appointments. Employees may schedule a time to return to campus on the following dates:

  • Friday, May 29
  • Saturday, May 30
  • Monday, June 1
  • Tuesday, June 2

In order to ensure everyone’s safety, the following guidelines must be followed:

  • Employees must wear a face covering while on campus and practice social distancing
  • Employees may not bring guests or pets with them into buildings
  • Employees must use SUNY ID cards to access buildings and may not prop doors open
  • Employees must follow signage for entering and leaving the building
  • Working in your office is not permitted

Employees may not come to campus if in the 14 days leading up to their appointment time they (1) experience COVID-19 symptoms, (2) test positive for COVID-19, and/or (3) come in close contact with someone who has a confirmed or suspected COVID-19 case.

To schedule an appointment, please complete this request form request form.  After you complete the request form, you will be assigned a time slot and sent an email confirmation. The College understands there may be individuals that need more than one hour to remove their belongings from their office or who may need to bring someone with them to assist with removal of items. Those requests will be reviewed and coordinated on a case-by-case basis.

For any questions related to building re-entry, please contact Casey Nelson.

Thank you for helping to keep our entire campus community healthy.

Sincerely,

Melissa Proulx
