Physics students at SUNY Potsdam have the opportunity to pursue computational or experiential research with physics faculty members. They also pursue summer research on campus. The Physics department offers Physics Research I and II on a regular basis every year. Physics majors are encouraged to take these research courses where they get an opportunity to work with individual faculty members on research projects. Students are also encouraged to pursue summer research off campus such as at national laboratories or at graduate schools. Recently our physics students have completed summer research or summer internship at Naval Research Laboratory in Washington DC.
In recent years physics students made research presentations at regional meetings and at the National Conference of Undergraduate Research (NCUR). They published their work at the Proceedings of the NCUR.
