The Museum also maintains a small study collection of earlier works on paper. At this time the largest number of works in the Collection are from the mid-20th Century, which includes two special collections of Japanese and Italian contemporary art. Within the Japanese collection is one of the largest groups of paintings in the country by the avant-garde Gutai group (1954-1972).
