Institutional Review Board June Approvals

The research proposal “Preservice Music Educators' Attitudes and Perceptions About Technology” submitted by Dr.Emmett O'Leary, Dr. Julie Bannerman, Department of Crane School of Music has been reviewed by the Institutional Review Board. It has been determined that the use of human subjects in that research meets the criteria of exempt research on June 28, 2018. This exemption is applicable for a period of one year.

The research proposal “Mechanisms of Artistic Communication” submitted by Dr. Melissa Dolese, Department of Psychology, has been reviewed by the Institutional Review Board and by the Provost of the college. The researcher and the use of human subjects in that research have been approved as of June 27, 2018.

The research proposal “Cyberbullying, Preparedness, and Procedures” submitted by Carrie Corriveau, Department of Public Health and Human Performance, has been reviewed by the Institutional Review Board and by the Provost of the college. The researcher and the use of human subjects in that research have been approved as of June 21, 2018.

The research proposal “Adolescent English Education Program Study” submitted by Dr. Laura Brown & Joanne Stiles, Department of Adolescent Education, has been reviewed by the Institutional Review Board and by the Provost of the college. The researcher and the use of human subjects in that research have been approved as of June 21, 2018.

The research proposal “2018 New York State SPP14 Survey” submitted by Dr. Patrick Turbett, Department of PIAR, has been reviewed by the Institutional Review Board and by the President of the college. The researcher and the use of human subjects in that research have been approved as of June 21, 2018.

The research proposal “Vermont SPP # 14 Survey 2018” submitted by Dr. Patrick Turbett, Department of PIAR, has been reviewed by the Institutional Review Board and by the President of the college. The researcher and the use of human subjects in that research have been approved as of June 21, 2018.

The research proposal “The Impact of Preservice and Inservice Teachers' Backgrounds on Their Philosophies of Teaching Literacy” submitted by Dr. Lynn Hall & Amanda Averill, Department of CILSE, has been reviewed by the Institutional Review Board and by the Provost of the college. The researcher and the use of human subjects in that research have been approved as of June 14, 2018.

The research proposal “Predicting Basketball Performance Using Physiological and Psychological Variables” submitted by Dr. Christopher Torres Dr. Ali Boolani, Department of Community Health, has been reviewed by the Institutional Review Board and by the Provost of the college. The researcher and the use of human subjects in that research have been approved as of June 7, 2018.

The research proposal “Action Research for Music Educators” submitted by Dr. Caron Collins, Department of Crane School of Music, has been reviewed by the Institutional Review Board and by the Provost of the college. The researcher and the use of human subjects in that research have been approved as of June 7, 2018.

The research proposal “The Efficacy of Professional Development on Early Literacy and Inclusive Instruction in an Urban Turn Around School” submitted by Dr. Dennis Conrad and Dr. Theresa Aboodeb-Gentile, Department of Special Education, has been reviewed by the Institutional Review Board and by the Provost of the college. The researcher and the use of human subjects in that research have been approved as of June 5, 2018.

The research proposal “The effects of social trends in student involvement” submitted by Dr. Kathleen Valentine, Lindsday Labiendo, Lindsday Pitkin, Department of CILSE, has been reviewed by the Institutional Review Board and by the Provost of the college. The researcher and the use of human subjects in that research have been approved as of June 4, 2018.

The research proposal “Leaders in Forum Theatre” submitted by Dr. Rivka Rocchio and Dr. Don Borsh, Department of Theatre and Dance has been reviewed by the Institutional Review Board. It has been determined that the use of human subjects in that research meets the criteria of exempt research on June 1, 2018. This exemption is applicable for a period of one year.
