SUNY Potsdam is hosting approximately 600 middle and high school students from across the North Country and even from New York City this fall, for the College’s Careers in STEM Events, sponsored by Arconic. Students will get the chance to choose from hands-on activities, learning from faculty and students in SUNY Potsdam’s programs in science, technology, mathematics and the health sciences.

SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music will honor the music of composer Gregoria Karides Suchy in a special concert series this fall, marking what would have been her 100th birthday. Crane will host “The Music of Gregoria Karides Suchy – A Centennial Celebration” throughout the month of November, with a series of six concerts. All of the concerts are free, and the public is invited to attend.

The State University of New York at Potsdam is proud to announce new career-ready concentrations for its longstanding program in computer science.  

Following a national search, SUNY Potsdam has named Brent Parker as the institution’s new vice president for business affairs and chief financial officer. Since joining campus at the beginning of October, he has been hard at work supporting the College’s financial planning and operations. 

School of Education and Professional Studies’ Center for School Partnership and Teacher Certification (CSPTC) Office is accepting on-line applications for a Senior Staff Assistant to serve as the Assistant Director of the CSPTC.  The Assistant Director will coordinate and support teacher education candidates beginning with onboarding through program completion and certification.

The Office of College Advancement is hiring a full-time Director of Stewardship.The Director of Stewardship will be responsible for the on-going stewardship of current donors to include gift acknowledgment and donor recognition, fund management and reporting, special events and personalized stewardship, as well as managing a small portfolio of donors.

Professor Dr. James J. Donahue, assistant chair of SUNY Potsdam’s Department of English and Communication, is set to release a new book, “Indigenous Comics and Graphic Novels: Studies in Genre.”  

The SUNY Potsdam College Council will hold its second meeting of the 2023-24 academic year on Friday, Nov. 17 at 10 a.m., in the Raymond Hall eighth floor dining room. The meeting will be open to the public, and will stream live online via Teams. A link will be available on the College Council website prior to the meeting.
