Six students from SUNY Potsdam’s Department of Business Administration recently made virtual presentations to judges in the International Business Ethics Case Competition, during a two day competition, held on April 20 and 21. The competition was the culmination of several weeks of intensive research, team meetings, practices, and full-dress rehearsals to get ready to compete against colleges and universities from the U.S., Canada, Iran, and Russia.

Two outstanding SUNY Potsdam seniors were recently among those honored with the 2023 Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence. Chancellor John B. King, Jr., recognized the recipients in a ceremony in Albany on April 24. The SUNY Potsdam recipients included Darien Cain ’18 & ’22 and Simisola Macaulay ’23. 

Two outstanding SUNY Potsdam graduates have been recognized as the academic honorees for the Class of 2023, earning the 2023 Faculty Awards. The award recipients, Ben Johnson ’23 and Cassidy Welsh ’23, were chosen by the Faculty Senate and will be specially recognized during Commencement. 

The Research Corporation for Science Advancement has announced that SUNY Potsdam Professor of Chemistry Dr. Fadi Bou-Abdallah is the recipient of a 2023 Cottrell Postbac Award, one of seven awarded nationally.

College Advancement is accepting on-line applications for an Associate Director of Fundraising/Development Officer (local title), Staff Associate (budget title), who will be charged with cultivating and soliciting major gifts from alumni and friends in regions across the country. This candidate will join a highly successful fundraising team that encourages professional growth and operates in a collegial and supportive work environment.

The State University of New York at Potsdam honored the Class of 2023 in the shadow of the Satterlee Hall clocktower, surrounded by thousands of guests, on Saturday, May 20. A short drizzle of rain prior to the ceremony didn’t deter the joyous graduates—or the proud families and friends there to celebrate them. 

SUNY Potsdam Professor Dr. Claudia Ford, chair of the College’s Department of Environmental Studies, has been selected as a 2023-24 Distinguished Visiting Scholar for the University at Buffalo’s School of Arts and Sciences. 

SUNY Potsdam recognized students and faculty mentors for excellence in research and creative projects, following the College’s 2023 Learning and Research Fair.
