WANG Ziyu (she/her/hers) is a composer and educator. With her interests in transcultural influences in music, musical metaphor and narrative, as well as visual arts, she brings a unique perspective to her compositions. Her works have been performed by the Carpe Diem String Quartet, Carnegie Mellon Philharmonic, the ASU Wind Ensemble, and at festivals and events such as the SPLICE Institute, the Nief-Norf Summer Festival, New Media Art & Sound Summit, NYCEMF, Asian Classical Music Initiative, Subtropics Festival, the Atlantic Music Festival, the PRISMS Festival, the Chigiana Summer Academy in Italy, and Tsinghua University in Beijing.

Ziyu recently earned her DMA in Music Composition at Arizona State University. Before her current position at SUNY Potsdam, she served as faculty associate at ASU, teaching aural skills, music theory, and composition. Her compositions showcase her diverse interests and are written for solo instruments, chamber groups, large ensembles, as well as electronic media. She has received recognition for her music, including commissions from the American Guild of Organists (2020), PEAR Chamber Music Weekend (2022), and the winner of the 2019 ASU Composition Competition.

Beyond her compositions, Ziyu also performs in her friends' work with clarinet, voice, and piano. Prior to pursuing her career in music, Ziyu completed her B.E. degree in Automotive Engineering at Tsinghua University, Beijing, where she was the first woman racer on the university's student formula racing team.
