Campus Mask Update

March 4, 2022

Dear Campus Community,

As we continue to monitor state and local masking requirements, data, and input from our community, SUNY Potsdam will now relax indoor masking requirements.

Effective immediately, we will operate as mask-optional in all indoor locations with the following exceptions

  • Classrooms, labs, and studios
  • Student Health Services
  • College Counseling Center
  • Community Testing Site

For those with approved exemptions or who are eligible for boosters, we strongly encourage you to keep wearing masks indoors for your safety and the safety of your peers. Additionally, masks are encouraged in large group settings.

In compliance with New York State isolation requirements, anyone who is within six to ten days of recovering from testing positive for COVID is still required to continue to be masked around others.

Campus constituents are asked to carry a mask with you at all times. As a Potsdam Bear, we are committed to care for one another. Be respectful of individuals who request that you wear a mask in their office space or other room. printable sign is available to post on your door for those who wish to request that guests wear a mask. We must be courteous and understanding when people are wearing masks or ask you to wear one.

Sincerely,

Phil
