Violations of the campus BEAR COVID-19 Pledge expectations

February 22, 2021

Dear Students:

I want to remind you about the campus expectations related to COVID-19 outlined in the SUNY Potsdam BEAR (Be Ethical And Responsible) COVID-19 Pledge. Please take a moment to re-read the pledge. While we know that we are asking you to sacrifice, only by limiting the spread of the virus can we ensure that everyone in our community stays healthy.

Please also remember that the SUNY Chancellor has instituted system-wide uniform sanctioning guidelines for violations of the campus BEAR COVID-19 Pledge expectations. The minimum sanction in most situations is removal from campus. These guidelines also apply to student groups with a minimum sanction of de-registration for at least one year. Violations will be taken seriously as this is related to the health and safety of other individuals.

If you would like to report an issue, you can email email or call (315) 267-4114. Neither of these reporting mechanisms will result in an immediate response. Reporters will be asked to leave a detailed message including their name and the name of the person they are reporting as well as any actions the reporter took to address the expectations. Anonymous reports may limit the extent to which the College is able to investigate and/or address the report.

If you have any questions, please reach out to me. Thank you for taking these measures seriously.
