Enjoy a night of comedy and drag with RuPaul's Drag Race star Darienne Lake and some of SUNY Potsdam’s own student drag performers!
Darienne Lake is an American drag performer lauded for her razor-sharp humor, captivating stage presence, and heartfelt authenticity. Hailing from Rochester, New York, she began her career performing at local clubs, quickly earning a devoted following for her quick-witted banter and unforgettable lip syncs. It was this very knack for bringing songs to life—described by IndieWire as “lip syncs like the rent is due”—that propelled Darienne into the national spotlight when she competed on RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 6. During that run, she claimed a top-four spot and garnered a new title straight from RuPaul: “Lip Sync Assassin.” This achievement cemented her place among the show’s most memorable queens and opened the door to even broader opportunities. Darienne has also appeared on RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars, Hulu's Drag Me to Dinner, and has her own comedy special, Altered Boy, on Amazon Prime.
