Strong reading comprehension requires more than just decoding—it’s about equipping students with strategies to think deeply about text. In this session, we’ll explore seven research-backed comprehension practices, including predicting, questioning, clarifying, summarizing, visualization, making connections, and monitoring understanding. Together, we’ll break down how each strategy supports students’ reading growth and how to model them effectively during instruction.
