Literacy Learning in Action Workshop: Assessments That Inform Instruction

This workshop is sponsored by the St. Lawrence Valley Teacher Learning Center and is open to all education students. It is part of a Literacy Learning in Action Workshop series that will be held throughout the academic year. Participants will include SUNY Potsdam students and staff, as well as local teachers! Please join us for this professional workshop to deepen your literacy instructional practice.

Assessment is key to understanding where your students are and how to adjust instruction. In this session, we’ll explore formative assessments that are quick, easy to use, and provide valuable feedback. You’ll have the chance to create and practice a few assessment tools for measuring phonemic awareness, fluency, and comprehension, and leave with actionable strategies for using assessment data in the classroom.
