Literacy Learning in Action Workshop: Oral Language and Vocabulary Development in Early Learners

     This workshop is sponsored by the St. Lawrence Valley Teacher Learning Center and is open to all education students. It is part of a Literacy Learning in Action Workshop series that will be held throughout the academic year. Participants will include SUNY Potsdam students and staff, as well as local teachers! Please join us for this professional workshop to deepen your literacy instructional practice.

     Oral language development is critical for literacy success. This workshop will focus on strategies to boost students’ vocabulary and oral expression, including storytelling, interactive read-alouds, and classroom discussions. Participants will engage in role-play activities, working in groups to design vocabulary-building games and exercises that can be incorporated into everyday routines.
