In addition to the usual aspects of Opera Gala, we will be hosting a workshop of a new operatic work written and composed by Annabelle Kahle and Brodie Ainsworth entitled "The Gloves of Turlupin." It is based on an early 20th century epic French poem, and centers on a man named Turlupin who, after discovering a set of magic gloves in his attic, is sent on a series of impossible quests by Princess Harpigella which would reward Turlupin with her hand in marriage.
Auditions will take place from 4-6pm on Friday, February 27th in C101. These are informal auditions, so just bring a song you feel confident in! Any genre, only a few minutes long, but there will not be an accompanist provided, so if you can't bring one, don't worry! The auditions will consist of your single piece, followed by a few questions about what you want to get out of the workshop. The auditions are in increments of 6 minutes.
