Assistant Facilities Program Coordinator Vacancy

The Physical Plant is accepting on-line applications for an Assistant Facilities Program Coordinator to join our professional staff as a Program Manager/Coordinator. The successful candidate will report directly to the Facilities Coordinator and will be responsible for the observation and inspection of construction projects on-site.

Duties include checking for compliance with contract requirements, participation in job meetings to report on progress and problems, review of contractor’s application for payment, and maintenance of a daily project log for each individual project on campus.  Duties also include working with the State University Construction Fund (FUND), Dormitory Authority (DASNY), Office of General Services (OGS), Architects, Engineers, and on-campus departments on the design and construction of Capital and Campus Let Projects, focusing on the Campus impacts, needs, project budgets and schedules. Coordinator will work closely with Campus members to determine the project facility needs, and project specific reviews will be conducted with interested committees or groups on the Campus.

SUNY Potsdam’s physical facilities is located on 274 acres, consists of 54 structures (primarily constructed between 1966-1972) totaling more than 2.2 million square feet. SUNY Potsdam has approximately 4,000 full/part-time students; approximately 50% live on campus. The Physical Plant Department, comprised of approximately 155 employees, continues to manage another multi-million dollar, multi-year plan of capital renewal projects.
