Athletic Trainer Vacancy

The Athletics Department is accepting on-line applications for a full-time Head, Athletic Trainer. 

Duties include, but are not limited to: supervising the athletic training staff and provide the following:  prevention, care, and basic rehabilitation of athletic injuries to student athletes; athletic training support for all intercollegiate athletic teams; evaluate injuries and administer appropriate first aid and rehabilitation programs; athletic training coverage for all practices, scrimmages and home and away contests of varsity athletic teams as assigned;  and provide athletic training coverage for all visiting teams traveling without a certified athletic trainer.

Other duties include: develop, establish and enforce appropriate policy and regulations concerning athletic training room usage; maintain accurate records concerning athletic related injuries and provide copy to the Athletic Director when requested; ensure all student athletes have completed the proper medical compliance, in accordance with NCAA and SUNYAC policy, for participation in collegiate athletics; assist Student Health Services in ensuring completion of physical examination procedures; maintain inventory and make appropriate changes based on needs; develop budget and conduct purchase orders for appropriate materials and inventory; and oversee fellow staff members including assistant athletic trainers and part time assistant athletic trainers. Daily practice and event coverage, along with travel to away competitions with assigned teams is expected.

Required qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from a CAATE accredited athletic training education program, NATABOC certified required, and also NYS License.  We are, especially, seeking candidates who have engaged in professional development activities to enhance knowledge of diversity, equity and inclusion and have worked collaboratively across various departments in fostering success of underrepresented groups and a supportive and inclusive environment for all.  Proof of your NATABOC certification and separate word document with names and contact information for three professional references must be uploaded with application to be considered.
