Title IX Coordinator and ADA Compliance Officer Vacancy

The College is seeking an experienced individual to serve as the Title IX Coordinator and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Compliance Officer for the College. The ideal candidate will have strong collaborative and organizational skills which allow for effective planning, as well as the ability to build trust across the entire campus. The candidate should be knowledgeable of all state and federal laws related to Title IX and ADA.

Job Requirements and Essential Functions of the Job: Oversee, coordinate and manage all of the College’s Title IX and ADA Compliance efforts, including the implementation of programs; Lead efforts across the campus to ensure compliance with all federal and state laws, policies and legislations related to Title IX and ADA Compliance Investigations; Investigate, in a timely and unbiased manner, all Title IX complaints, including but not limited to harassment, violence, assault, dating violence and stalking; Investigate, in a timely manner, all discrimination complaints related to ADA; Partner with appropriate campus offices throughout the investigation process.

Outreach and Training: In collaboration with the Title IX taskforce: coordinate campus-wide education and training and annual Title IX Campaign outreach programs; plan and execute activities during Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Leadership: Serve as a resource for students, faculty, staff and the administration on issues such as harassment, discrimination, and retaliation as they relate to Title IX; Convene and support the Title IX Core Committee to provide education and training on sexual violence prevention; Serve as Chair of the ADA Compliance Committee; Serve as the campus Domestic Violence Liaison to internal and external stakeholders; Regularly attend SUNY and STIXCA meetings and other Title IX professional development programs to stay abreast of current standards for Title IX investigations; Work closely with SUNY Legal to ensure full compliance with all state and federal laws; Periodically review and develop content for the College’s Title IX webpage and ensure the information is accurate and current at all times; Ensure all Title IX employment policies remain up to date and in compliance; Prepare, in a timely manner, annual statistical reports on Title IX-related complaints and ADA Compliance and disseminate reports to appropriate offices/organizations; Conduct periodic review of all educational and training materials to ensure they effectively comply with all federal and state legislation related to Title IX; and Work with the Associated Colleges on Title IX issues.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; One year of full time professional experience in Title IX, ADA, compliance, law, human resources, student life, student conduct or related field; Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to perform under deadlines and pressure; Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; Demonstrated ability to deliver training, education, and outreach; Communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues; Demonstrated commitment to creating, fostering and sustaining an inclusive environment.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree; Three years of progressive professional experience in Title IX compliance, ADA, law, human resources, student life, student conduct or related field in a higher education setting; Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal requirements for equal opportunity, equal educational opportunity, Title IX and ADA compliance; Experience in conducting trauma sensitive investigations in a higher education setting; Demonstrated engagement in professional development activities to enhance knowledge of diversity, equity and inclusion, experiencing working collaboratively across various departments in fostering success of underrepresented groups and providing a supportive and inclusive environment for all.
