The Art Department is accepting on-line applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Graphic Design and New Media. This is a temporary position in anticipation of a tenure-track position beginning in fall 2019. Selected candidate will teach three courses per semester in a Mac-based lab, participate in portfolio reviews and student advising, assist in curricular development, participate in departmental and college committee work, and maintain an active exhibition or professional practice.
Required Qualifications: M.F.A. in Graphic Design and Media Arts or related field by August 2018, college-level teaching experience and skills in web design, motion graphics, interactive media, sound design, video, and time-based media. Additional skills might include experience in packaging and exhibit design, 3D applications, and ability to teach online or hybrid courses. Candidates must be able to teach foundation courses and have a demonstrated commitment to teaching pedagogy. Evidence of knowledge of historical and contemporary design is required.
