Santiago Garcia Cuevas is a professional audio engineer, researcher, musician, and educator based in Montreal, Canada. His work spans sound recording, mixing, mastering, music production, live sound, immersive audio, and electroacoustic music.
At McGill University, Santiago served as Concert Coordinator, Senior Recording Engineer, Senior Live Sound Engineer, and Webcast Technician, contributing to the recording and production of concerts, recitals, and academic events. His research focuses on immersive audio and three-dimensional sound capture, culminating in the publication of his work in the Journal of the Audio Engineering Society and its presentation at the 2024 Audio Engineering Society Convention in New York City.
In addition to his academic work, Santiago is an active recording, mixing, mastering and live sound engineer. He works as a freelance engineer and at Montreal's renowned Studios Piccolo, collaborating on a wide range of recording projects across a multitude of musical genres.
