James J. Donahue is primarily interested in exploring the complex literary and cultural tensions of twentieth century America. In particular, he is endlessly fascinated with the Beat Movement, Modernism/Postmodernism, Historical Fiction, and Native American fiction. He also collects books by British sci-fi/fantasy author Michael Moorcock, and has been told on more than one occasion that he reads more Ezra Pound than is healthy.
