COVID-19 Testing Update

May 17, 2022

Dear Faculty & Staff,

Effective Friday, May 20 close of business, the on-campus COVID-19 testing site will close.  This means you will no longer be testing in Merritt Hall.  COVID-19 testing will return to the Raymond Hall lobby where there will be a drop box for your test.  Swab tests will also be available in the Raymond Hall lobby.

Beginning Monday, May 23, COVID-19 testing will only be available to those who are mandated to test. Unvaccinated employees and those who have not shown proof of full vaccination are mandated to test through August 31, 2022.  If you are mandated to test you will continue receive the weekly reminder from Human Resources.  Employees that are fully vaccinated may use a local testing site or an at home testing kit.  For the purpose of surveillance testing, fully vaccinated is defined as two doses of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine and one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.  Local testing sites can be found on the St. Lawrence County Department of Health website.

COVID-19 surveillance testing will continue to be on Mondays from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Employees who work an evening shift will have arrangements with Human Resources for a different drop off schedule.

As a reminder, employees must still notify Human Resources of any positive COVID-19 test, either through campus testing, an external lab, or an at-home test.  St. Lawrence County Public Health (SLCPH) will no longer be providing isolation or quarantine orders.  Therefore, you must complete the Affirmation of Isolation should you test positive for COVID-19 and/or Affirmation of Quarantine should you meet the requirements to quarantine.  SLCPH and SUNY Potsdam follow the New York State isolation and quarantine guidelines.

Sincerely,

Melissa Proulx
Assistant Vice President for Administration and Human Resources
