Summary
During the summer 2025 season, I worked for my second year as a Boat Launch Steward with the Lake Champlain Basin Program. My role focused on preventing the spread of aquatic invasive species by inspecting boats entering and leaving Lake Champlain and educating the public on prevention practices. Each day I set up at different launches, spoke with boaters, and removed plant material from boats and trailers. I also collected survey data on basic questions that I asked the boaters. I was able to interact with a large variety of people and made some great friends at the boat launches. And I had the opportunity to go on plant harvests in kayaks with the other stewards in the program.
