Duties
This role required organization, time management skills, leadership skills and knowledge of beach operations. I hired a staff, created schedules, organized trainings, spoke with the general public frequently and had to utilize quick problem-solving skills.
Summary
My Personal experience working for the village was great. I had an easy time communicating with my supervisors, and it felt easy to ask for help. I was hired as the Aquatics Director at Sandstone Park. This summer I ran Pine Street’s beach. Some of my duties included, hiring and managing the lifeguards, creating an executing training exercises for employees, teaching swimming lessons and water safety, enforcing park and state regulations, assist in water activities for summer camp, etc. One of my favorite memories from this summer was the last day of rec when we rented out a huge inflatable water slide and all the lifeguards, kids and counselors played on this huge water slide all day.
