Crane Youth Music (CYM) offers two scholarship opportunities to assist participants with tuition, with several awards made to students under each scholarship fund. The Scott LaVine Scholarship provides partial assistance for participants with financial need, and is open to all CYM participants. The Mark Hartman CYM Scholarship provides partial assistance specifically to low brass (trombone, euphonium, tuba) participants with financial need. Participants are invited to apply for one or both scholarships, as appropriate for their area of study.
Applications must be accompanied by a recommendation from a private or school instructor, a letter from a parent or guardian stating the financial need, and a copy of the most recent NYSSMA solo adjudication sheet or a comparable document of evaluation. Incomplete applications will not be considered. No full scholarships are awarded.
