The Crane School of Music offers the Music Education, M.M. as an online program, designed to meet student interests, needs and requirements within a framework that provides opportunities to pursue a balance of academic and professionally oriented courses. This online program is designed to be completed over two years, with students taking two courses each semester (fall, spring, and summer), except in the second summer when only one course is taken.
This is a 32-credit Master’s degree, with the same degree requirements regardless if students opt for the in-person summer program or this online option. See the last page of the degree requirements document (PDF) for details on what courses are taken in each of the six semesters in the online program. Graduate Music Admissions information and a link to the application can be found on the Graduate Studies in Music webpage. Please note that students must begin the online program in the fall semester, and the admissions deadline is June 1, with a priority scholarship deadline of March 2.
