B.A. in Music
The Bachelor of Arts degree in Music is the only liberal arts degree in music that The Crane School of Music offers. Unlike the Bachelor of Music degrees, this program allows students to combine music study with a broad-based liberal arts education. Students in the B.A. in Music degree often are looking to combine music with study in an outside field.
Outcomes
Students will be able to:
- notate a newly encountered melody accurately and efficiently.
- demonstrate competency in musical performance.
- demonstrate knowledge of pivotal historical events, societal attitudes, aesthetic and artistic trends and to identify their interrelationship with music.
- demonstrate the ability to synthesize and reflect upon their musical experiences.
