The B.S. in Music Business features a streamlined music curriculum with fewer core music requirements than the B.M., giving you more flexibility to explore music business, business, and other areas that align with your interests and career goals.

Create, Record and Produce
Explore the creative and technical side of the music industry through hands-on experiences in recording, production, and live events. Students in our Audio Technology classes have opportunities to work in the Performing Arts Center's professional recording studio, record ensembles and bands, and work on independent projects. On-campus interns can also gain experience recording and livestreaming performances and events.
Students can also get involved with Madstop Records, Crane's student-run record label. Through Madstop, students can gain hands-on experience recording in its campus studio, working with artists, and helping produce and promote live shows on campus.
Learn the Business by Doing
Build real-world experience through required internships and industry projects. Music Business students at Crane connect with industry leaders through guest visits and, for select students, the competitive NAMM Practicum: a faculty-selected opportunity to work firsthand with music companies at the NAMM Show. Through internships, students apply classroom learning, grow their professional network, and explore career paths that fit their interests.
