About the Program
The Potsdam Promise is an exciting initiative designed for high school seniors in St. Lawrence and Franklin counties. Through this program, many students are eligible for guaranteed admission for Fall 2026 along with a free application to SUNY Potsdam.
Who is Eligible for the Potsdam Promise?
- Students on track to earn a Regents Diploma with a cumulative GPA of 83 or higher.
- Students on track to earn an Advanced Regents Diploma with a cumulative GPA of 79 or higher.
If a student does not meet these criteria, they are still encouraged to apply! We offer outstanding Bridges and EOP programs, and we’d be happy to discuss these options in more detail.
Process
- Apply using the SUNY Application.
- Select SUNY Potsdam as a college choice and enter POT26 in the Special Campus Project field.
- On the payment method screen, please select "Mail in Payment" - This is just a placeholder, since SUNY Potsdam is covering your application fee.
- Add SUNY Potsdam to your 2026-2027 FAFSA using our school code: 002850.
- Request your school to send your academic transcript to SUNY Potsdam.
