Her True Colors

No one shows their Potsdam Pride at Reunion quite like Alumni Board Vice President Sarah Mack ’04. Each year, she drives to her alma mater from Syracuse, N.Y., with a suitcase full of maroon and grey outfits—proud to wear Potsdam colors each day.

After two summers without an in-person Reunion, Sarah is eager to reunite with her favorite Potsdam people this July.

There’s something special in those of us who are connected to SUNY Potsdam,” Sarah explains. “There is an innate sense of genuine care we feel toward each other.”For Sarah, Reunion has also served as an opportunity to expand her network of friends and professional colleagues. “Having so many alums all in one place and engaging with them in informal conversations has allowed me to make connections I otherwise wouldn’t have,” she says.

When asked what she would say to fellow alumni deciding whether to attend Reunion, Sarah simply says, “Do it, and bring your friends!”

She also notes how easy it is to create an individualized Reunion experience.

“You don’t have to attend everything—pick a handful of events to go to and spend the rest of your time hanging out with fellow alumni over coffee or just walking around Market Street. Potsdam comes alive during Reunion, and it’s so much fun.”
