If you’ve ever said to yourself, "I can't even sew a button", this class is for you! Learn the basics from hemming pants to using a sewing machine.

Starting a new skill can be both exciting and a little nerve-wracking—especially when it comes to something as hands-on as sewing. Whether you’re a complete novice or have some basic experience, know that this beginner sewing class is designed to make sewing feel approachable and achievable. No matter your starting point, you’ll finish with a sense of accomplishment and the skills needed to take on more challenging projects in the future. No prerequisite skills are necessary.

This beginner sewing class is designed to introduce you to the basics of sewing while giving you hands-on practice. You’ll receive instruction in basic hand sewing and clothing repair, threading and safely operating a sewing machine, and reading basic patterns. You’ll complete two projects: a hand-sewn needle book, and a tote bag with outside pockets. All the essential tools and materials needed for the class will be provided, including scissors, needles and thread, fabric, and professional grade sewing machines.
