Literacy Learning in Action Workshop: Early Literacy

This workshop is sponsored by the St. Lawrence Valley Teacher Learning Center and is open to all education students. It is part of a Literacy Learning in Action Workshop series that will be held throughout the academic year. Participants will include SUNY Potsdam students and staff, as well as local teachers! Please join us for this professional workshop to deepen your literacy instructional practice. Building strong literacy foundations begins well before a child reads their first word. This session focuses on the essential pre-reading skills—print awareness, phonological awareness, and oral language—that set the stage for future reading success. Participants will explore developmentally appropriate activities and environmental print strategies for young learners. You'll leave with a bank of playful, evidence-based activities to build early literacy skills in your classroom.
