Literacy Learning in Action Workshop: Oral Language

This workshop is sponsored by the St. Lawrence Valley Teacher Learning Center and is open to all education students. It is part of a Literacy Learning in Action Workshop series that will be held throughout the academic year. Participants will include SUNY Potsdam students and staff, as well as local teachers! Please join us for this professional workshop to deepen your literacy instructional practice. Oral language is the foundation upon which reading and writing are built. This workshop focuses on strategies for expanding students' vocabulary and syntax through structured conversation, storytelling, and discussion routines. Participants will practice facilitating academic talk and designing oral language activities for various ages. You'll leave with ready-to-use routines for building oral language skills throughout the school day.
