Literacy Learning in Action Workshop: Reading Fluency

This workshop is sponsored by the St. Lawrence Valley Teacher Learning Center and is open to all education students. It is part of a Literacy Learning in Action Workshop series that will be held throughout the academic year. Participants will include SUNY Potsdam students and staff, as well as local teachers! Please join us for this professional workshop to deepen your literacy instructional practice. Fluency is the bridge between decoding and comprehension, and it takes intentional practice to build. This workshop explores research-based fluency practices, including repeated reading, phrasing, and prosody instruction. Participants will practice fluency-building routines and create take-home fluency passages differentiated by reading level. You'll leave with a stack of ready-to-use fluency materials for your classroom.
