Literacy Learning in Action Workshop: Vocabulary Instruction

This workshop is sponsored by the St. Lawrence Valley Teacher Learning Center and is open to all education students. It is part of a Literacy Learning in Action Workshop series that will be held throughout the academic year. Participants will include SUNY Potsdam students and staff, as well as local teachers! Please join us for this professional workshop to deepen your literacy instructional practice. Vocabulary knowledge is closely tied to comprehension and long-term academic success. This session explores explicit and incidental approaches to building word knowledge, including morphology and word relationships. Participants will practice designing vocabulary routines and word-study activities for their grade level. You'll leave with vocabulary games and routines ready to implement immediately.
