Literacy Learning in Action Workshop: Writing 4-6

This workshop is sponsored by the St. Lawrence Valley Teacher Learning Center and is open to all education students. It is part of a Literacy Learning in Action Workshop series that will be held throughout the academic year. Participants will include SUNY Potsdam students and staff, as well as local teachers! Please join us for this professional workshop to deepen your literacy instructional practice. As students move into upper elementary, writing demands grow more complex. This workshop explores strategies for teaching multi-paragraph writing, organization, and revision for grades 4-6. Participants will practice using mentor texts and graphic organizers to scaffold longer pieces of writing. You'll leave with mentor text examples and graphic organizers ready to use with your students.
