Literacy Learning in Action Workshop: Writing 7+

This workshop is sponsored by the St. Lawrence Valley Teacher Learning Center and is open to all education students. It is part of a Literacy Learning in Action Workshop series that will be held throughout the academic year. Participants will include SUNY Potsdam students and staff, as well as local teachers! Please join us for this professional workshop to deepen your literacy instructional practice.Writing instruction for older students calls for a focus on argumentation, analysis, and voice. In this session, we'll explore strategies for teaching structured essay writing and textual analysis to students in grade 7 and beyond. Participants will practice giving actionable feedback on student writing samples. You'll leave with feedback protocols and writing frameworks to support secondary writers.
