Mary Ann “Polly” Nichols, Annie Chapman, Elizabeth Stride, Catherine Eddowes and Mary Jane Kelly led their own lives prior to fall 1888, and those lives were important. They were mothers, daughters and sisters, wives and friends. How did they come to be in the path of a killer? This talk, based on The Five by Hallie Rubenhold, will discuss the lives of these women and what they tell us about crime, victimization, and society. Questions?
