SUNY Potsdam Volleyball Skills Clinic
December 06, 2026 01:00 PM to 04:00 PM
Maxcy Fieldhouse - SUNY Potsdam
Build your skills and train with SUNY Potsdam Volleyball. Open to boys and girls ages 12–18.
Designed for modified, JV and varsity athletes, the clinic will focus on technical skill development across all aspects of volleyball. Participants will also take part in positional training designed to strengthen volleyball IQ, reinforce foundational mechanics and introduce more advanced collegiate-level concepts.
The clinic is open to players of all experience levels and gives developing high school athletes the opportunity to work directly with SUNY Potsdam coaches while also being evaluated as prospective student-athletes.
The clinic will be led by Josh Stokes, head coach of the SUNY Potsdam men’s and women’s volleyball programs.
Stokes brings more than 30 years of coaching experience at the high school, club and collegiate levels. He returns for his 14th season leading the Bears women’s program and his eighth season at the helm of the men’s program, which he helped establish. During his career, Stokes has been named Coach of the Year six times across the NECC, SUNYAC and NEAC conferences and has led teams to two NCAA Tournament appearances. Before returning to Potsdam, Stokes served as head coach of both the men’s and women’s volleyball programs at Southern Vermont College. His women’s teams compiled a 69-19 record, won back-to-back conference championships and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2011 and 2012. A former collegiate setter at Ramapo College, Stokes recorded 1,200 assists during his playing career and was twice named to the Skyline Conference All-Academic Team. He earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Ramapo College and a master’s degree in education from SUNY Potsdam.
