Family & Friends Weekend

We’re excited to invite you to Family and Friends Weekend at SUNY Potsdam, happening September 25 - 27, 2026!

Join us for a weekend filled with opportunities to spend time with your student, explore campus, connect with other families and supporters, and experience some of the best that SUNY Potsdam has to offer.

The weekend will include a variety of events and activities, including:

• 🎶 A performance by the Crane Wind Ensemble
• ⚽ Potsdam Bears athletics
• 🧘 Yoga in the WISER Greenhouse
• 🎨 Hands-on workshops and activities
• 🍕 Family and Friends Community Dinner
• 🥞 Bear Hug Brunch
• 🎁 Free swag and other goodies
• And more!

Family & Friends Weekend Schedule (PDF)

At SUNY Potsdam, we believe that access is an important part of student success. As such, we’re pleased to offer two special programs as part of Family and Friends Weekend:

• On-campus lodging, available for $60 per night, per room. You can indicate your interest in lodging when you register. We are also able to provide a limited number of scholarships to help offset the cost of lodging. If you’re interested in a lodging scholarship, please apply here.
• Free bus transportation for families and supporters who may not have access to reliable transportation to the North Country. The bus will leave from NYC on Friday, September 25, and return to NYC on Sunday, September 27. Seats are extremely limited and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Each family may request a maximum of four seats on the bus, and this limit cannot be waived. Reserve your seats as part of the registration process. 

Registration

Registration is now open. Register on the Potsdam Family and Friends Hub! We encourage you to review the schedule and register for the events you’d like to attend. Some activities have limited capacity, so advance registration may be required. Most events are free, but some do require paid admission. Full details are available on the registration page.
