Assistant Facilities Program Coordinator Vacancy

The Physical Plant is accepting on-line applications for a full-time Assistant Facilities Program Coordinator.  Selected candidate will work with the State University Construction Fund (SUCF), Dormitory Authority (DASNY), Office of General Services (OGS), Architects, Engineers, and on-campus departments on the design and construction of Capital and Campus Let Projects, focusing on the Campus impacts, needs, project budgets and schedules. Other duties include preparing construction documents for both renovations and new construction and working closely with Campus members to determine project facility needs within allotted budget. Project specific reviews will be conducted with interested committees or groups on Campus. 

Required qualifications include technical knowledge of design and construction industries; ability to comprehend construction drawings and specifications and MS Word and Excel proficiency.  Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Technology, Architecture, Engineering or related field and a minimum of five years’ experience in capital project design and construction management, construction industry, construction supervision, architecture, engineering or related field.  We are seeking candidates who possess communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues and who have demonstrated a commitment to creating, fostering and sustaining an inclusive environment in and out of the classroom. 

Preferred qualifications include:  strong written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to anticipate problems and minimize negative impacts on Campus; estimating and project scheduling software; building renovation design and specification writing experience; AutoCAD 2010 (or later version) software proficiency; working knowledge of International Building Codes, National Electrical Code and other NFPA standards; Architectural/Professional Engineer NYS Registration, and seven years’ experience in capital project design and construction management, construction industry, construction supervision, architecture, engineering or related field.  We are, especially, seeking candidates who have engaged in professional development activities to enhance knowledge of diversity, equity and inclusion and have worked collaboratively across various departments in fostering success of underrepresented groups and a supportive and inclusive environment for all.
