SUNY Potsdam Undergraduates & Faculty Members Travel to Eastern Psychological Association Annual Meeting
A group of psychology students and faculty from The State University of New York at Potsdam recently traveled to New York City to attend the Eastern Psychological Association conference.
The students representing SUNY Potsdam’s Department of Psychology were:
- Casey Asaro of Waterford, N.Y.
- Tanner Currier of Potsdam, N.Y.
- Sarah Fitzgerald of Madrid, N.Y.
- Lee Necaise of Massena, N.Y.
The 2025 conference had the theme "Making positive changes in people's lives and in the world," and brought forth the myriad ways that psychology students, faculty and professionals are using research, teaching and service to strengthen communities and promote well-being.
This year's Eastern Psychological Association conference, one of our largest ever, featured more than 1,000 papers, posters, keynotes, symposia and events.
The SUNY Potsdam students were accompanied by three faculty members, Dr. Heather Beauchamp, Dr. Karen Davis and Dr. James Fryer. To support the students' attendance, the department received funding from the Center for Applied Learning, the Student Government Association, the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program and Psi Chi Honor Society.
With one of the largest departments on campus, faculty in the SUNY Potsdam Department of Psychology are dedicated to research, as well as teaching. Internship opportunities are available in a variety of areas for students.
