Registering for Classes

To register for classes, you must first complete the mandatory health requirements. If you are inadvertently registered for classes and have not completed the health requirements, you will be disenrolled on August 15 for the Fall semester and January 15 for the Spring semester.

International Undergraduate Freshmen (1st year students) and Exchange Students

International Education & Programs staff will pre-register all international undergraduate freshmen and exchange students in classes for the upcoming semester.  By the time you arrive on campus, you will have a schedule of at least 12 credits.  We can add more classes or make minor adjustments to your schedule of classes up until Friday of the first week of classes.  You can view your schedule in BearPaws at any time but you will not be able to add or drop any courses until you have spoken to an academic adviser or International Education & Programs staff member.

ALL Crane School of Music Students (Freshmen, Transfer, Graduate Students)

If you are a Crane School of Music student (freshman, transfer, or graduate student), please email the Crane School of Music main office at crane@potsdam.edu for assistance in registering for classes.

Transfer Students

If you are transferring to SUNY Potsdam from another college or university (and not a Crane student), please contact Patty Gilmer in the Academic Advising and Support Office at gilmerpa@potsdam.edu to set up an advising appointment to register for your classes.

Graduate Students

If you are a graduate student (and not a Crane student), you must work with a graduate student academic adviser to register for classes; contact Graduate Studies at graduate@potsdam.edu for more information.
