I have been working in the helping professions since 2002 when I first began teaching and guiding in an adventure therapy program for at-risk youth. Since then, various experiences in residential treatment programs, inpatient chemical dependency, as well as private practice have allowed me to continue to learn treatment methods which help clients achieve their goals.
As a member of SUNY Potsdam's Counseling Center since 2007, I enjoy combining cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, as well as a good dose of humor in my work with clients. While psychotherapy is serious business, I believe it does not have to be somber.
I'm a big proponent of self-care for all of my clients. I do my best to practice this myself in the form of rock and ice climbing, trail running, gardening, and spending time with my family.
