Applications for the annual Spring semester, which begins each January, may be submitted anytime between August and the end of November. The final deadline is November 30 each year.
Note: Individuals who are not enrolled in a college degree program and wish to apply as non-matriculated students to attend this training as a standalone program may do so, adhering to the same end-of-November deadline. Individuals who miss the deadline should contact Director Duquette at duquetar@potsdam.edu to inquire about the possibility of late registration.
Instructions
- Print the application (see link below). Answer all questions fully and truthfully. A false statement made on this application may result in academy dismissal and/or criminal charges.
- Attach copies of:
- The front and back of your driver’s license.
- College Course Summary (transcript) from your Bear PAWS Account.
- Or, for non SUNY Potsdam students, a transcript from your college.
- College is not a mandatory pre-requisite to apply.

- Print off the HEALTH CERTIFICATE in this packet, have it signed by your Dr., PA (Physician’s Assistant), or NP (Nurse Practitioner), then attach it to your application.
Note: Because it does take time to get a medical appointment, applicants may submit their application without this. However, once approved into the academy, this Health Form must be submitted before academy start, or it is an automatic and immediate dismissal. No exceptions.
- Once all the above is complete, reach out to Director Duquette at duquetar@potsdam.edu to schedule your hour-long interview in which the Director will go over your application with you and determine immediate academy admittance.
