The secret language of floriography: an artistic investigation into the Victorian flower language
Floriography can be defined as the language of flowers. My project strives to research this secret language from the Victorian era and how it combines with art from the time. To do this I will be visiting an array of museums, where I will complete studies of the artworks that they have from the Victorian era. As I research, I will be combining my observations with my own ideas to create a portfolio of artwork exploring the symbolism of flowers. The culmination of my project will be a gallery exhibition of my art, along with a publication that will be available detailing the research behind the artworks being shown.
